ICIDS Spare Parts

Program Update | ICIDS

ICIDS Spare Parts Initiative to Reduce System Downtime

For customers within the ICIDS community, having a suitable supply of spare parts on-hand is critical to the operation and uptime of StarWatch systems. With expedited ordering of spares requiring up to six weeks for delivery after receipt of order, DAQ recommends that each base maintain a 10-20% standby stock, including master station related units and field equipment. In partnership with our network of certified VARs, DAQ can help keep you equipped with key modules and related hardware. The spare parts listing sheet linked below and a site-specific quotation (available on request) can be used to determine the minimum amount of spare units required at your location. For confirmation of needed components and formal pricing for your specific ICIDS system configuration, please contact your certified VAR or DAQ directly.

SCIF Access Control

Solution Highlight | ICIDS

Cost-Effective Access Control Solutions for ICIDS SCIFs

Utilizing StarWatch™ SMS software and equipment already installed in each Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) within the ICIDS program, Special Security officers can seamlessly expand the scope of on-site security to include access control and video monitoring. In addition to the standard intrusion detection system (IDS), the platform in use at all SCIF locations includes a proven access control (ACS) software module for personnel management, card/door monitoring, and strict control of all access points. Under your existing license, simply connect a StarWatch access control panel to your SCIF to include this ACS functionality. Supporting numerous reader and card designs, the system enables rapid integration with existing credentials, removing the need to create new cards. For more information about this simple path to expanded ACS capabilities, please review our SCIF overview.

BACnet Building Automation

Solution Highlight | Security & BAS

Merge Security and Building Automation with BACnet

StarWatch SMS provides users with the unique opportunity to merge security functionality with Building Automation Systems (BAS) through the use of BACnet, a widely used data communications protocol for building automation and control networks developed by ASHRAE. In use at hundreds of thousands of installations around the world, BACnet provides a common protocol that can be used by virtually any type of building automation equipment, including HVAC, lighting, energy management, and life safety systems, regardless of manufacturer, and now by powerful StarWatch security controllers and software. With built-in BACnet compliance, the StarWatch platform offers a level of device interoperability and data analysis opportunity previously unavailable in the commercial security market. For more information on this emerging technology, please visit our BACnet Automation page.

StarGate-5 IDS Panel

Product Highlight | Intrusion Detection

StarGate-5 Standalone IDS for Central Station Monitoring

Designed to function both as a standalone intrusion detection system for central station monitoring and as a cohesive part of the StarWatch™ security platform, the StarGate-5 provides secured, open connectivity for diverse applications. With native BACnet as an option, the StarGate-5 can communicate with any ANSI/ASHRAE 135-2010 compliant system, enabling seamless integration of intrusion detection, security, and building management systems. The StarGate-5 controller provides 8 on-board I/O points, expandable in sets of 8 points via RIOX-5 expansion modules (up to 128 I/O points total). The panel can be installed directly or housed within a metal enclosure with an optional 24VDC power supply. For more information on the StarGate-5 device, including technical specifications, please view our datasheet and visit our Intrusion Detection Panels page.

IoE3 and IoG3 Communications Products

Product Launch | SCADA

DAQ Introduces New IoE3 and IoG3 Communications Products

To meet emerging Smart Grid requirements, DAQ introduces the IoE3 and IoG3 communications products, two powerful additions to the Callisto™ network. The IoE3 is the latest generation of communications module, designed to combine with other DAQ modular units to create highly customized multi-card remote solutions. IoE3 technology also forms the core of the IoG3, a secured communications gateway housed in a 1U rack-mount enclosure. Both products manage information received from intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) as well as data from other Callisto nodes, all while adding a new layer of security to your SCADA system. Built-in security features include remote authentication, secure passwords, encrypted protocols (OpenVPN, HTTPS, SSH, SFTP), firewall protection, and syslog event management. To discuss the benefits of IoE3 and IoG3 secure communications technology, please contact DAQ directly.
