DAQ Electronics has been quietly doing extraordinary things for more than 50 years. Founded in 1975, we pioneered distributed processing technology at a time when the concept was still finding its footing in the industrial world. Since then, we have grown into a recognized leader in two distinct but complementary markets — physical security and SCADA automation — serving some of the most demanding applications on earth, from U.S. military installations to electric utility substations and critical infrastructure facilities around the globe.

Our Story
DAQ was founded at a pivotal moment in the history of industrial automation. In the mid-1970s, the idea of using networked electronic modules to monitor and control geographically dispersed equipment was still emerging — and DAQ was among the pioneers helping to define what that technology could look like. Our early work focused on the electric utility industry, where we developed advanced Remote Terminal Units that brought a new level of automation and reliability to power management and distribution.
As our expertise in high-speed data transfer and distributed processing matured, we recognized that the same core technology that was transforming utility operations could offer equally powerful advantages in the physical security market. That insight led to a pivotal expansion — one that would eventually place DAQ systems at some of the most secure facilities in the world, including U.S. Army bases across the globe and the Pentagon.
